Safety is an integral part of how we do business. A safe job is a productive job. The employee, the contractor and the owner have nothing to gain by taking short cuts when it comes to safety. At Subsurface Constructors we have an aggressive program of safety education, job site inspections, tool box talks, random drug testing, and participation in industry-wide safety programs.
We provide an incentive program to encourage employees to attend company sponsored First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 10-hour courses as well as provide job-specific training, such as the OSHA excavation course and confined space training.
We regularly conduct job-site inspections and toolbox talks. We also use outside sources for training and inspection, such as our insurance carrier’s safety inspectors and the Safety Van from the St. Louis Chapter of the Association of General Contractors of America. We work closely with the safety professionals from other contractors and owners to build a team approach to safety on every project. Our participation in the St. Louis Construction Industry Drug Testing Consortium has been successful in ensuring that all of our job sites are drug free. Lastly, our company has participated in the development of industry-wide programs through the Associated General Contractors and the Association of Drilled Shaft Contractors.
